On January 23, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the 2018 annual conference were held in the National Convention Center of Laos. Awards were presented to foreign enterprises that have made contributions to Laos' economy and society. Laos company of Sinohydro Bureau 10 Co. Ltd. is one of the top ten Chinese enterprises that have won the award. Mr. Tong Lun, the Prime Minister of Laos, attended the event and witnessed the award ceremony.

Since 1996, following the national strategy of "Going Global" , the Company officially entered the Lao market and contracted to build Nam Leuk hydropower station. In December 2016, the Laos company was established formally. Over the past 20 years, Laos company has made positive contributions to the local economic and social development in Laos. It has participated in the construction of nearly half of the hydropower stations in Laos, and the total installed capacity of the hydropower stations built and under construction is nearly 30 million MWs, accounting for 40% of the total 72 million MWs. The Lao company has become the absolute main force for the Lao Government to achieve the strategic goal of creating the "Southeast Asia Storage Battery".
